One of the complications after cataract surgery performed correctly, and implantation of an artificial intraocular lens is the lens rear bags opacity. Forms: Elschnig's pearls, original opacity or the bag fibrosis, which cause a decrease in visual acuity and / or monocular splitting. The treatment of choice is the laser capsulotomy ND: YAG laser. It disrupts posterior capsule (produces holes in the center of the lens capsule). The surgery is performed with the use of a minimum amount of energy, several months after cataract operation. If after the cataract operation the inflammation occurs disturbing the healing process, it may lead to the creation of rear adhesions - between the iris and the artificial intraocular lens. When using Nd: YAG laser they can be "cut up" - doing synechiotomy.
